BackerKit Surveys Soon • Upcoming Patch Campaigns

Backer Surveys: Nov. 15

Kickstarter takes about 2 weeks to process pledge payments and transfer the funds to creators. The payments have been processed, and I'll be sending out surveys tomorrow, November 15th.

I'm also working on getting the patch art to the manufacturer this week for pre-production, so I can approve production as soon as I know the order totals.

BackerKit details

Your BackerKit survey notification will be sent directly from BackerKit, using whatever email address you use here on Kickstarter.

The survey will allow you to choose the patch backing for your patches, and if you wanted to upgrade to Velcro but forgot, you can do so and pay the difference in BackerKit. All patches come with iron-on backing by default.

If your pledge includes the campaign-exclusive Golem Gang patch, you'll be able to order more of them. Only backers who have pledged for the reward that includes the Golem Gang patch will be able to buy them individually. You'll also be able to upgrade your pledge to the 7-patch set if you would like to get in on the Golem Gang patch.

A few of you had failed pledge payments, and I messaged you directly about this. But just wanted to mention again that you'll be able to pay for the pledge within BackerKit if you still want to get your patches and support the project.

Shipping Estimates

Patch manufacturing turnaround time is usually about 3-4 weeks. The sooner everyone fills out the survey, the sooner I can place the patch order.

It's possible that I can have these out before Christmas, but unlikely. I expect to ship these late December or early January.

Future Patch Campaigns

I'm working on concepts and sketches for upcoming patch campaigns. While I share progress in detail over on my Patreon account, I wanted to give you all a look at what I am considering and to also get your input on what you'd be interested in seeing next.

In the next backer update, I'll be sharing some sneak peeks of the art for the patch designs I am considering for the upcoming campaigns. Not only do I want to share these as a thank you for supporting this campaign, but I am also interested in your input as far as what you'd be most interested in for future sets.

Thanks!

Thanks again for backing this campaign, your pledges literally make all of this possible and each successful campaign helps to maintain the momentum for future patch sets as well.

Blacklight-active patch design mockup!

Blacklight-active embroidery threads
Blacklight-active embroidery threads

So I got the sample thread swatches for the blacklight-/UV-active embroidery threads.

It's tough to capture the true colors under blacklight, the bottom one (PT800) is actually a light blue, but it looks dulled out in the photo.

The tricky thing here is that some of the colors look different under blacklight. 11 & 17 are basically yellow under normal light, and lime green under UV.

16 & 17 are the most intensely bright under UV light.

I'm thinking that if I can do this, it is going to be something that I only do for one patch, and the likely candidate seems to be the campaign-exclusive Golem Gang patch.

The colors might need to change from the design I worked up.

I really can't justify not doing a blacklight-active patch at this point!

Actually, just mocked up a quick version of the Golem patch using the normal and UV light colors to see how they would work.

We lose a bit of the harsh contrast in the Normal Light version by switching to the yellowish thread, but that gives us that nice acid green in UV light. And the overall design still works fine in the normal light version. The colors in the normal-light version are actually a bit too harmonious for what I was aiming for with this set! But that's the trade-off for making it really pop under UV light.

I'm going to play around with some other color combos, but yeah I think this has to happen!
